Midnight Lament

She stares from the edge of Her window.
Her indifference makes fine china hum.
She hears me call to a dark bird
in a tree. I wink
and She turns away.

She thinks I'm an asshole.

Staring into Her midnight window;
Her silhouette paces to a cadence
I would call my own.

What more can I do?

Nothing works.

I brought Her blonde children
and Jersey shore post cards.
I brought Her my bible
and some garbage pail liners.
I brought food to Her doorstep
and five golden rings.

But She thinks I see Her
as some Comic Book Queen.
